The historical town of Alcalá de Henares, birthplace of Cervantes and World Heritage Site , his emblematic Gothic Cathedral- Magistral of Cisneros and the organ of G. Blancafort high quality and majestic sound, home interior, mark the ideal environment for holding the II International Organ Festival “Ciudad de Alcalá”. The four musicians selectded to participate on this second edition, high level concert organists and international, will make to enjoy the public with he Works of organ music in their different styles, baroque, romantic and contemporary. Al programs of the performers include a work of the great organ– Olivier Messiaen - to coincide with this year´s celebration of the centenary of his birth. As in the first edition the Festival will have a special activity dedicated to families through the holding of a concert –“Family Concert” –for all adults and children learn the organ- King of all inctruments, his composition and its huge varuety of sounds, and can understand better the greatness of this great instrument. This organ of Villasandino was built in 1734 by MERINO PEDRO DE LA ROSA, as recorded in an inscription of secrecy, using part of a previous box-sixteenth century. It can be seen in this video, the formidable trumpets of the organ and the good acoustics of the church.
